Work Permits, Work Education, Job Postings & Careers

Summer work permits expire 9/1/2017. Please make sure to renew your permit if you will continue working after this date. Come by to the College & Career Center for a new form.

All Students who want to work while in high school must have a Work Permit. From the age of 14, students may begin working limited hours during their high school career. Work Permits may be picked up in the College & Career Center or downloaded from the link below. Students must maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA and good attendance.


Work Permit Process:

1) Find a job.

2) Pick up a work permit and fill it out.

3) Turn it in to the College and Career Center.

4) Pick it up 2 working days later.

5) Turn it in to your employer.

6) Maintain 2.0 GPA and good attendance to keep your permit active.

Work Education is a 5 unit elective class offered each semester at Santa Barbara High School. You are eligible to enroll in Work Ed if you are in 11th or 12th grade and currently have a job and a work permit on file with the College & Career Center.
