“Teaching students music literacy and self-confidence through teamwork and group performance.”

The SBHS Choir Department is committed to providing students with a music education that emphasizes music literacy, teamwork and collaboration. The program strives to create a community on campus where students feel safe and welcomed, all while studying choral literature from a variety of different genres. Students of all levels are welcome, whether they are just starting their vocal journey, or whether they have been singing for years. 

Each semester the SBHS Choir Department puts on two large performances. In the fall they do their annual fundraiser, the Musical Marathon, and a Winter Concert. In the spring semester, they perform at a Spring Concert and the end of the year Pop’s Concert. Both Musical Marathon and Pop’s Concert focus on lighter selections from pop culture and musicals. The Winter and Spring Concerts typically feature more traditional choral music. 

In addition, the Choir Department frequently travels to choral music festivals. In the last few years, they have been to New York City, Universal Studios Orlando and Walt Disneyworld, Knott’s Berry Farm, Disneyland and this year they plan to travel to Hawaii!
